Have you ever gotten rid of a pet (or wanted to get rid of one) because the effort to take care of it was too much? Have you ever walked away from a relationship because the costs seemed to outweigh the benefits?
What are your thoughts on the Bible stories shared in the sermon that illustrate how God doesn't give up on us? Can you think of other stories in the Bible that affirm this same truth?
Through the cross, God shows the depths of his willingness to identify with our suffering. Have you ever been comforted by someone who knew the pain that you were experiencing because they had gone through something similar?
One of the works of the Holy Spirit is to pour God's love into our hearts so that we have the full assurance of his love for us. When have you experienced this "heart knowledge" of God's love for you?
