 Discussion Questions:

1. What was a difficult disappointment you remember going through? How did you feel and deal with that disappointment?  
2. How have you seen God work in and through your disappointments? What are some lessons you have learned?
3. Moses' greatest disappointment was being disqualified from ever setting foot onto the promise land due to his disobedience to the Lord in Numbers 20:6-13. We later find Moses making an appearance in Matthew 17:1-3 with Jesus and speaking to Him during His glorious transfiguration. What are some things we can learn and hope for based on this account of Moses' life? 
4. Read Deuteronomy 30:19-20. Moses' vision and hope was never in a plot of land, but of a nation representing God and His rule to the watching world by the love for God and care for one another. How does this inform you of some of the things we may be placing our hope in and what perspective change can we make in accordance to Moses' true vision? 

​We struggle to walk fully in the promises of God because we impose our own definitions of when and how they should be fulfilled by God in our lives. But God invites us into an extraordinary life of faith that is not limited by our own plans and presuppositions, offering us far more than we can hope for or imagine.

1. What is something that you really struggle to be patient in waiting for? Why? 
2. Have you ever waited on God for something that has taken (or is taking) years for him to answer? How has it tested or stretched your faith? 
3. How does the story of Abraham and Sarah encourage you in your waiting? How does the way their story unfold challenge you? 
4. What are some of the parallels you see between the miraculous birth of Isaac and the story of Jesus and the gospel? How might it challenge you to think or live differently? 

Jesus can handles our sinfulness with gentleness and sympathy interceding on our behalf. because he experientially knows our weakness.
