The sacrificial system in the Bible was designed by God to cover our debt and sin, for the purpose of reconciliation and restoration of our relationship with God.

The power and pervasiveness of sin in this world can often lead us to despair and a seeking of our own sinful ways of dealing with it. But God has called His children as His image-bearers to step into the sin and brokenness of this world and bring His restorative power into it through the ways we love as God loved us. ​

Sin is not just “missing the mark” of God's righteous standard but failing to fulfill God’s created purpose for us which is to reflect His glory as His image-bearers by the way we love God and one another as He has loved us.
