1. What is one of the boldest requests that you've ever made to someone or that someone has made to you? 
2. Pastor Steve shared that in his younger years prayer was taught to him in the framework of accessing God's power and heightened emotional experiences. How as prayer taught/modeled to you?  
3. Do you have any stories of answered or unanswered prayer? 
4. Read Matthew 7:7-11 and James 4:2-3. How should these verses inform how we ask things of God in prayer? What makes you reluctant to ask for things in prayer? What may be the reasons why God chooses not to grant our requests?
