Discussion Questions:

1. Have you ever had an experience at the beach when you encountered the power of open water? 
2. The waves crashing into the shore pictures the way that chaos is constantly seeking to disrupt the order and goodness of our world. What are some "agents of chaos" that seem to active in your life? 
3. Read Job 3:8-10. According to the message, what does Leviathan represent not only in the Bible but other religions of that time? Why does Job ask for conjurers to summon this chaos monster? 
4. Read the quotes from Viktor Frankl. Can you think of a time when you were able to endure a challenge or a trial because you saw a deeper meaning or purpose behind it (childbearing, athletic pursuit, illness, etc.)? 
5. How do these two gospel passages (Matthew 8:23-27 and Luke 22:31-32) give us a fuller picture of how to understand the way that God rules his creation particularly in the face of suffering?
