Have you ever found yourself in a desperate situation where you had to ask someone for help even if you really didn't want to do it (e.g., car trouble, medical emergency)?
In the sermon, Pastor Steve said that our prayer life is one of the most honest indicators of what we truly believe about God. What does your prayer life reveal about your beliefs about God?
Malcolm Gladwell described his father as mischievous, adventurous, filled with joy, wonder and curiosity. This is the picture of someone who approaches each day with the belief that God is good. Read Psalm 23. In what ways did David demonstrate belief in God's goodness to him. What would it look like in your own life if you truly believed that you are surrounded by God's goodness?
In the message, Pastor Steve confessed his general distaste of having to ask things of others, including God. How do you feel about asking help from others?
Are there some prayer requests that feel too risky to pray out of fear that God may not grant them to you? How can we overcome this fear and pray bolder prayers?
